Abstract
Description
Upon being told that the Bodhisattva had been born in the Lumbini Garden for the salvation of the world, Asita, a sage dwelling in the Himalayas, hastened to Kapilavastu and asked Suddhodana to show him the child, whom he predicted would be a perfectly accomplished Buddha. He wept at the thought that he himself would not live long enough to hear his doctrine and advised his nephew, Naradatta, to become a disciple of Buddha.
