Description
Half-lotuses, then goddesses, then tier with flying spirits. Each dancer is accompanied by a diminutive male figure and by her tree. In her raised right hand is swords [sic]. The dancers may be associated with a Mahavidya, such as the 6th or the 13th Vidyadevi, out of the 16 Vidyadevis or Tantric, spell-binding goddesses of the Jains. -- Goddesses holding swords on part of small dome in centre of mandapa, 2 out of the 8 struts. White marble. c. 1031. Strut = c. 3 ft.
