Description
This kind of bas-relief is stylistically typical. Episodes from the great religious epics are often portrayed. Here we see Sita thanking Hanuman after his rescue of her from Ravana who was holding her prisoner on the island of Lanka (Ceylon). Left, a lion which forms part of the same pillar.
