The female figure of a divine being is a decorative bit taken from the Hindu background of the artists. The peacock on the end of the lowest lintel is purely decorative. The die [sic] is the nativity scene, noted in slide 12, with the elephants above Maya, the Buddha's mother, symbolizing the divine conception of the Buddha.
