Molony speaks of his opinions concerning some of the media reports on the upcoming Italian elections; Italy's long struggle for unity and freedom in comparison with Sydney's 200 years of political history noting the differences; reads excerpts from 3 letters concerning the Italian elections and outlining his belief in the stability of the Italian Christian Democratic Government; how the Vatican also exerts an influence over the voters; his view of the Italian Communist Party and how it regards the Church; the nature of its influence and the likelihood of it coming to power; what the consequences would be if the Communist Party took control of Italy; the problems a communist government could expect in Italy and the impact it would have on the rest of Europe.
