Abstract
A cure for influenza is discovered by Australian microbiologists Peter Coleman of CSIRO and Graeme Laver of Australian National University. Explores the rivalry developed through the corporatisation of research funding. Nurimenadase crystals are isolated from virus antigens and sequenced revealing a nonmutating area which can be targeted by purposefully designed drugs. Results in the commercial release of Relenza and Tamiflu.
