Description

At the bottom, a frieze of elephants, then a wheel of the "sun chariot" with a frieze of minor deities (yakshas, snakes, etc.) and a frieze of erotic groups (old fertility deities) behind. On top a frieze with scenes from social life. Mannered, over-elaborate, and erotically decadent in manner. -- 8th-13th Centuries.
