Abstract

Description

Small tan-p'ing (zhanping) pottery vase, probably from the workshop of the elder Chang brother. It appears to be an imperfect piece, where the neck was damaged during the manufacture and then repaired by the finder or dealer. The earthenware is thin and medium grey in colour. The glaze is thick, even, semi-mat and of a dark grey-blue. The cracks spread net-like over the vessel. -- h: 8.3 cm.
