Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are advised that ANU Library collections may include images, names, voices, and other representations of deceased persons.

Material in the collection may contain terms, language or views that reflect the period in which the item was created and may be considered inappropriate today.

This is the shrine over the relics of Sanchi, a center for important Buddhist ceremonies every year, and a sacred pilgrimage spot for Buddhists from all over the world. Note the Ceylonese style of architecture, and the Tibetan thang-kas on each side of the entrance to the shrine room. Buddhists from all over the world contributed to the building of this temple and have sent treasures which are kept in the shrine room.
