Abstract

Description

This warrior, dressed in helmet & cloak of skin and armed with axe and throwing-stick, probably belonged to a frieze. He is identical with the soldiers on the Stele of Victory and "Standard of Ur". This inlay-plaque seems to have been incrusted, but only the hollowed-out areas remain as evidence. -- h : 9.9 cm (Louvre).
