It refers to the concepts, objects, cycles and ceremonies that relate to the morning star (Venus) and its relationship to creator ancestors and ancestral beings. Early in 2002 a group of Yolngu artists and dancers donated their sacred Morning Star Poles to an exhibit at the National Maritime Museum. This film documents the launch of this exhibit and the ceremonial dance that was performed. -- Commissioned by Bandigan Aboriginal Art and Craft.00:19:10video cassettecoloursoundvideo/mpegengAustralian National Maritime MuseumArt, Aboriginal Australian -- ExhibitionsBanumbirr: morning star poles2002This video recording is provided for research purposes only and must not be reproduced without the prior permission of the Archives Program, Australian National University
