These bas-reliefs are frequently surmounted by a semi-circle decorated with representations of animals. In the upper frieze, which illustrated Arjuna's triumph with the bow, a small dog accompanies the right-hand hunter. In the lower frieze we see, in profile this time, a warrior mounted on a war chariot drawn by two rearing horse[s]. On one of them the charioteer is seated like a postillion.35mmmounted transparencyb&wimage/tiffen-AUDeccan-- Chalukya Dynasty-- Pattadakalarchitecturestone sculpturebook scanVirupaksa.
