This book examines the prospects for the future of the balance of the two super powers - the United States and the Soviet Union - and the role that may be played by that great enigma, China, in the light of the recent history of relations between the powers. The United States and the Soviet Union seem to have reached an understanding in their relations, but the part that may be played by China is unpredictable.
