With the present volume, studies of all four have now been made available, all of them under the aegis of the North Australia Research Unit. Earlier studies are listed in the bibliography. As in 1980, The Department of the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory made a generous donation towards the conduct of the research. The results were presented at a seminar held in Darwin a few months after the event. Party officials and academic analysts presented papers and the present volume includes important primary documents on party election organisation and campaigning.
