Gregson, R2015-12-101090-0578http://hdl.handle.net/1885/61265An equation created by Sheperd (1982) to model stability in exploited fish populations has been found to have a wider application, and it exhibits complicated internal dynamics, including phases of strict periodicity and of chaos. It may be potentially applicable to other psychophysiological contexts. The problems of determining goodness-of fit, and the comparative performance of alternative models including the Shephed model, are briefly addressed. Keywords: animal; article; commercial phenomena; ecosystem; fish; food chain; nonlinear system; population dynamics; statistical model; Animals; Commerce; Ecosystem; Fishes; Food Chain; Models, Statistical; Nonlinear Dynamics; Population Dynamics Bayes; Chaos; Dynamics; Lyapunov; Response function; Sheperd modelThe Sheperd equation and chaos identification20102016-02-24
