Photographer: David R. Eastburn, 1949-2021-03-292021-03-29Dec 1979http://hdl.handle.net/1885/228557Photographer's note: Within the montane forestit is quite open with little undergrowth. It is a cool, damp, dark, quiet world of filtered green light through the solid canopy of leaves. The silence is occasionally broken by the rattling cry of a long-black-tailed Sicklebill bird of paradise. The rumbling of subterranean rivers from beneath the carpet of roots, leaf litter and moss at various places along the track reveals another world of caves. This photograph was taken on the Muller Range on the path between Hareke (Koroba – Lake Kopiago road via Tumbudu Valley) and Atea Kanada (and Nali source in doline at the Muller escarpment base).photographen-AUThis item is provided for research purposes.
