Nanostructures can come in various forms i.e. tubes, rods and dots. Each presents themselves as a possible candidate for creating larger photonics structures. In this paper, we describe the optical trapping characteristic of dielectric enhanced nanoparticles. Two techniques of dielectric enhancements are employed: silica coating and microsphere tagging, for the efficient manipulation of nanoparticles. Keywords: Dielectric enhancement; Optical manipulation; Opticaltrapping; Semiconductor nanostructures; Silica coatings; Micromanipulators; Nanoparticles; Nanophotonics; Nanotubes; Silica; Optical properties Nanotube; Optical trappingDielectric enhanced nanoparticles for three-dimensional optical manipulation200910.1117/12.8254562016-02-24
