In this letter we report measurements of efficiencies up to 50% and radiation patterns for plasma column antenna elements. It is demonstrated that the current distribution along the antenna can be controlled by the plasma density. Plasma columns can be used instead of metal elements in communications antennas. The Application of Plasma Columns to Radiofrequency Antennas19992015-12-12
