Abstract

Discusses the nature of the Australian Labor Party and Labor governments. Identifies the importance of the Party's relationship with the union movement (especially union officials), almost exclusive pursuit of social change through parliament and commitment to operating within the framework of capitalism. Argues that the Hawke government's Prices and Incomes Accord did not serve the interests of the working class. Show more
