Abstract

We discuss the results of a series of redshift surveys of faint galaxies and their implications for galaxy evolution. In particular we address the luminosity evolution of bright galaxies at Z~1 and the nature of the large population of faint galaxies with very blue colours. We present preliminary results for a B<24 redshift survey and outline new observational programmes for investigating the nature of faint galaxies and their evoulution.
