Abstract

This chapter analyses the pattern of structural transformation in the Nepalese economy and its implications for the agriculture sector and provides policy directions for the future. The chapter highlights the critical role of research, extension and infrastructure to ensure sustainable agricultural growth in Nepal. It also throws light on the emerging opportunities and challenges as the country moves towards a federal political system.
