Quantum field effects in coupled atomic and molecular Bose-Einstein condensates
Abstract
Quantum field statistical effects were observed in coupled atomic and molecular Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC). The parameter regimes in which the condensates do not obey the Gross-Pitaevskii equation were examined. Stochastic field equations for coupled atomic and molecular condensates were derived to describe the full quantum state of the condensates. The results showed that it was possible to differentiate the quantum and semiclassical behavior in conditions of low particle density and strong coupling.
