Abstract

Ken Taylor's essay 'Cities as Cultural Landscapes' presents, through a number of case studies in Asia and Australia, the possible application of the Historic Urban Landscape approach to complex urban conservation situations. Its main point of concern is the construction of significance in urban places, as well as how urban heritage can become a resource to foster rehabilitation and regeneration of the modern city.
