Abstract

Sculpture: pigment printed and 2-Pac clear-coated aluminium, 180 x 140 x 160 cm Installed in the ANU Research School of Chemistry on 11 November 2017 to celebrate the School's 50th anniversary. Created in collaboration with Canberra sculptor Geoff Farquhar Still and in consultation with then RSC Head Prof. John Carver and other members of the School. The sculpture is an interpretation of a protein structure; the title reflects the process by which proteins are formed and to the exchange and reinterpretation of ideas that occurs when researchers collaborate across disciplines to generate and communicate new knowledge. The sculpture has been photographed exhaustively by RSC Prof. Elmars Krausz, and is used as a Zoom background by RSC staff.
