Abstract

Slope erosion by raindrop impact, runoff and soil creep was measured during three years in four tropical localities in Northern Territory, of which two were on granite and two on sandstone, and during two years in a granite and in a sandstone area in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales. Slope lowering by slopewash was on average five times more rapid than that effected by soil creep in the tropical northern sites and seven times more rapid in the temperate southern sites.
