Thich Nhat Hanh is one of the most prominent Buddhist leaders in the world today. A prolific author, he has had a profound impact on both theory and practice for many contemporary Buddhists, particularly with regard to his efforts to integrate mindfulness training into daily life as a mechanism for promoting peace. He is widely credited with coining the term 'Engaged Buddhism' as a description of how Buddhists should manifest their beliefs in concrete activities in the world aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged people, transforming societies, and promoting peace.
