Abstract

This is an originally researched article that analyses a new artwork, titled 'Earthwork', by Melbourne-based artists Sonia Leber and David Chesworth. It considers the work in the context of its inclusion in the exhibition 'I don't want to be there when it happens' (curated by Mikala Tai and Kate Warren) at 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. The article, published in the gallery's online journal '4A Papers' positions the artwork within a field of scholarly and creative research that explores the impact of drones and drone vision in contemporary warfare and contemporary surveillance society more broadly.
