Abstract

This book Population, Development and the Environment: Challenges to Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in the Asia Pacific had its origins in a joint conference between the Australian National University (ANU) and the University of Yangon, 2–3 February 2017. It was held in the Arts Assembly Hall at the University of Yangon and represents a significant collaborative research engagement between the authors of all the chapters in the book. Many of the authors are researchers from the University of Yangon who participated in the research training program funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Canberra, Australia, 2014–2016, for academics from the University of Yangon to assist in enhancing their research outputs.
