Abstract

As most of the chapters in this book are based on the research that has adopted a clear analytical framework and scientific approach for assessing the watershed impacts, it is necessary to illustrate the aims of this research, framework, and approach before going into the analytical details of these chapters. This chapter provides the overall framework of the hydrogeology modeling, biophysical modeling, and 'sustainable livelihoods'. This chapter also provides the framework of the Bayesian Network (BN) used for integrating these three aspects. Also, details such as the sampling design and profile of sample sites are also presented in this chapter.
