In pondering authoritarian under-labouring, this chapter positions the discipline of criminology, critical criminology, preoccupation with national policy, and national intellectual communities as distractions when the planet is in peril. Dancing with authoritarianism should imply even more wariness of suppressed criticality in societies where arrest, and worse, for local colleagues can await the critical.
