| dc.description.abstract | Polar sovereignty was a relatively dormant issue in the second half of the twentieth century. In the Arctic, most territorial claims had been settled by World War II. The dawn of the twenty-first century has seen a significant shift in the debate over Arctic sovereignty, due to several factors. This chapter seeks to challenge some of the perceptions that have developed with respect to Canadian Arctic sovereignty from the perspective of international law. | |
