Indigenous Spiritual Light: Reconsidering the Negative Stereotypes on Indigenous Sprirtuality

Wood, Azmi

Description

The fundamental position in this paper is that spiritual traditions are independently important and do not need or seek external validation. It is argued however that Indigenous spiritual traditions - as with other spiritual traditions of significance to people - should as a rebuttable presumption be recognised, respected, protected and regarded as intrinsically valuable.
