Evolving convex hypersurfaces

The subject of this thesis is the deformation of hypersurfaces by means of geometrically defined parabolic equations. In the most general case, we consider hypersurfaces moving in a Riemannian manifold, with speed determined by a function of the Weingarten curvature.
