Extreme Ultraviolet Astronomy

Astronomical studies in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) band of the spectrum were dismissed during the early years of space astronomy as impossible, primarily because of the mistaken view that radiation in this band would be absorbed by the interstellar medium.
