Sedimentary rocks of the Palaeoproterozoic Calvert and Isa Superbasins are exposed across a large area of northern Australia. Despite the extent of the exposures there is little to indicate the nature of the basin margins as most outcrop boundaries are structurally or erosionally defined, or the margins, where preserved, are concealed beneath younger basins.
