For many years archivists in Australia had been talking about the need for a 'glossy brochure’ as a way of promoting the archives profession and the work they do. In September 2004, the Council of Australasian Archives and Records Authorities (CAARA) endorsed an Australian Society of Archivists proposal to develop such a brochure.
