Inverse Energy Cascade Correlated with Turbulent-Structure Generation in Toroidal Plasma
The observation of the inverse energy cascade correlated with the generation of large turbulent structures was reported. It was suggested that the polarization drift nonlinearity dominates due to the large ion gyroradius and high collisionality. The results on the spectral power transfer based on the extended Ritz model were correlated with this prediction and agreed well with the expected shape of the broadband turbulent spectrum.
