The probability of inconsistencies in complex collective decisions

Many groups make decisions over multiple interconnected propositions. The "doctrinal paradox" or "discursive dilemma" shows that propositionwise majority voting can generate inconsistent collective sets of judgments, even when individual sets of judgments are all consistent.
