Simultaneous dispersion and noise monitoring for phase-modulated signals using photonic chip based RF spectrum analyzer

We demonstrate for the first time simultaneous chromatic dispersion and amplifiedspontaneous-emission noise monitoring of phase-modulated 40 Gb/s NRZ-DPSK and 640 Gb/s RZDPSK optical signals, using a THz bandwidth photonic-chip-based radio-frequency spectrum analyzer. High measurement dynamic range was also achieved.
