Infrared metamaterials tuned by liquid crystals
We demonstrate the tunability of a left-handed fishnet metamaterial at near infra-red frequencies. The structure is infiltrated by a liquid crystal and the tunability is achieved due the reorientation of liquid crystal molecules.
