Theory of photoionization-induced nonlinear phenomena in gas-filled photonic crystal fibers

Saleh, M; Chang, Wonkeun; Holzer, P; Travers, J C; Joly, N Y; Russell, P. St. J.; Biancalana, Fabio

Description

Based on a recently developed model that is able to describe pulse propagation in gas-filled hollow-core PCFs, we show that the photoionization process can lead to soliton self-frequency blue-shift, self-phase modulation, and modulation instability.
