The Caledonian orogen of East Greenland contains remnants of Archean, Paleoproterozoic, late Mesoproterozoic, and early Neoproterozoic rocks that occur within far-traveled thrust sheets, and bear witness to a complex polyorogenic history of the region prior to Caledonian orogenesis.
