The first bimetallic metallaboratrane: [Rh 2 {B(mt) 3 } 2 {κ 2 - S,S -HB(mt) 3 }]Cl and its synthesis from the fluxional rhodaboratrane salt [Rh{B(mt) 3 }(η 4 -C 8 H 12 )]Cl, ( Rh→B , mt = methimazolyl)

Crossley, Ian R; Hill, Anthony; Humphrey, Elizabeth; Willis, Anthony

Description

The prolonged reaction of [Rh{B(mt)3}(η4C 8H12)]Cl, prepared from [Rh(η4-C 8H12)Cl]2 and 2 equiv of Na[HB(mt) 3], with a further excess of Na[HB(mt)3] leads to formation of the first binuclear metallaboratrane salt, [Rh2[B(mt) 3]2{κ2-S,S′-HB(mt)3}]Cl
