Advances in cell-free protein synthesis for NMR sample preparation
Cell-based expression strategies exist for the2H,13C and15N stable-isotope enrichment of target proteins for NMR studies. However, there are no guarantees that the protein will express to a reasonable level or be folded correctly. In addition, the economic cost of producing an isotope-labeled protein may be prohibitive because of the scale of production required or the cost of isotope-labeling sources.
