is paper offers a brief overview of the steps in and the dynamics of the peace process in the eighteen months from January 2001 to July 2002, and an assessment of the prospect that implementation of the Peace Agreement will provide the basis for continuing consolidation of peace in Bougainville and between Bou gain ville and the rest of Papua New Guinea.
