Original caption: This is a small portion of the City of London, which received its full share of the bombing raids early in the war. Paterson, Laing & Bruce Ltd were housed in a four storied building in Australia Avenue. The 'spot' is marked with a white cross. Nothing remains. Only one building to be seen in this photograph is occupied, and that is the Fire Brigade building at the back, near the Cripple-gate Church.
