Newtonian noise and ambient ground motion for gravitational wave detectors
Fluctuations of the local gravitational field as a result of seismic and atmospheric displacements will limit the sensitivity of ground based gravitational wave detectors at frequencies below 10 Hz. We discuss the implications of Newtonian noise for future third generation gravitational wave detectors.
