Femtosecond pulse duration measurements by transverse second harmonic generation in random nonlinear media

Description

We study transverse non-collinear second harmonic generation in a nonlinear crystal with random ferroelectric domain structure and demonstrate that it provides a simple and robust method for characterizing femtosecond optical pulses.
