Impact of soil erodibility factor estimation on the distribution of sediment loads: the La Trobe River catchment case study

Description

The soil erodibility factor (K) is used in empirical erosion models based on the Universal Soil Loss Equation to account for soil susceptibility to detachment and transport by rainfall and runoff. Whilst soil erodibility is ideally measured from long-term standard plots, in catchment-scale modelling it is more often estimated by applying pedo-transfer functions.
