We present an InP-based laser with Y-coupling  inspired resonator cavity. This design allows the reduction of gain-saturation and two-photon absorption . This is achieved by increasing the cross-section of laser mode (reducing the field intensity) while maintaining single spatial mode operation, which is very important in numerous semiconductor laser applications.
